Capturing Emotions Through Design
This 78-page coffee table book has been one of the most extensive and detail oriented project I have created. The book consists of photography and text sourced from The New York Times, covering global events that occurred in every month of 2020.
The aim was to design in a way that is rhythmic but not monotonous: clearly identifying chapter openers, breaking up content with varying image sizes, creating caption hierarchy, tastefully using white space, perfecting ratios, and pulling out quotes to highlight.
More importantly, it was to capture the volatile emotions that we felt while living through such a chaotic year.
